Impression of the pictorial book of Trailokya ; traditional paintings applied on ancient documents inspired by the concept about knowledge and faith towards Buddhist literatures. The content in the book is about cosmology, philosophy, ethics, biology, thoughts, and beliefs falling in the scope of Buddhist teachings which are mainly about doing good things, avoid doing bad things, and the three marks of existence.
My work was created based on Thai scrolls made of artificial leathers. It consists of paintings of essential places in Rattanakosin Island, which are the most beautiful works of art among Thai art. These places express the love and faith that Thai people have towards Buddhism. The actual places are yet to be restored, and I transferred them onto paintings to make provoke the audiences’ consciousness and make them use their imagination, look over the beauty of the semblances and get into the core of the three marks of existence.
